CUSTOM SOFTWARE
Software built for the problem, not the template.
When your product outgrows its MVP — or you need something bespoke from the start — we build the production software your business actually runs on. We inherit existing codebases, modernise them, and extend them, or architect net-new platforms designed to scale. No frameworks-for-the-sake-of-it: every decision is traceable to a real business constraint.
WHAT YOU GET
Software that scales with your business.
Every custom engagement ends with a production-ready codebase designed to be owned, maintained, and extended by your team.

HOW IT WORKS
Audit first. Build second.
We never write production code before we understand the full system. Every decision is traceable to a real business constraint.
Week 1
Technical audit
For existing systems, we assess the codebase, infrastructure, and team setup before writing a proposal. For net-new work, we skip directly to architecture design.
Output: Audit report with honest assessment and recommended path forward
- Codebase quality, test coverage, and maintainability review
- Infrastructure and deployment assessment
- Technical debt mapping with prioritised recommendations
Weeks 1–2
Architecture design
We document the system design, data models, API contracts, and phased delivery plan — with your team's input before development begins.
Output: Architecture document and phased delivery plan with fixed quote
- System design and data model documentation
- API contract definitions
- Technology decisions with written rationale
- Phased plan with defined outputs per phase
Weeks 3–12+
Development sprints
Two-week sprints with defined outputs. You access a staging environment every sprint. No dark periods — you always know what's in progress.
Output: Incrementally built features deployed to staging each sprint
- 2-week sprint cycles with clear sprint goals
- Staging URL updated after every sprint
- Weekly progress updates and bi-weekly syncs
- Technical decisions documented as we go
Ongoing
Test coverage and QA
Automated tests for critical paths from day one. Load testing and security review at each major milestone — not as an afterthought at the end.
Output: Test suite for critical paths, load test reports, security review
- Unit and integration tests for business-critical logic
- Load testing at scale milestones
- Security review at each phase completion
- Performance audit on all user-facing surfaces
Final phase
Documentation and handover
Architecture diagrams, runbooks, and a recorded codebase walkthrough your team can reference. We hand over everything — no lockout, no hidden knowledge.
Output: Full documentation package + recorded codebase walkthrough
- Architecture and infrastructure diagrams
- Runbooks for common operational tasks
- Developer onboarding guide
- 90-minute recorded codebase walkthrough
CLIENT STORY
Custom software in action.
Parcelpath needed a logistics platform built around their specific routing logic — not retrofitted from a SaaS tool.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Custom software FAQ.
When your business logic is too specific for off-the-shelf tools, your existing system is at capacity, or you need a platform built to scale to thousands of concurrent users. If you're still validating the idea, an MVP is almost always the right starting point.
Yes. We've taken over projects mid-build, post-launch, and post-failure. We start with an honest technical audit before committing to a price — so you know exactly what you're dealing with.
We work in 2-week sprints with defined outputs. Every sprint has something deliverable — a new feature, a performance improvement, a migration completed. You never pay for a sprint with nothing to show.
After the technical audit, we quote a fixed price for a defined phase. Longer projects are scoped in phases so you never commit to more than you can see. We don't do open-ended time-and-materials billing.
That's a design goal from day one. We write for readability, document as we go, and run a full handover walkthrough before our engagement ends. We've never had a client's team struggle to take over.
